The OPA’s group benefits program is designed with one person in mind — you, the psychological professional. Whether you are an employee, self-employed, incorporated or a clinic owner, the OPA group benefits program is designed to meet the particular insurance needs of psychological professionals in Ontario.

Individual plans and plans for groups under 3 employees
1. Zone plans are offered in partnership with Green Shield Canada

Comprehensive benefit plan with varying levels of dental, paramedical and medical service coverages for individuals and groups under 3 employees. Some plans are guaranteed issue while others require a medical questionnaire.
Plan highlights:
- Coverage for extended healthcare benefits such as medical supplies, hearing aids, eye exams, physiotherapists and many others.
- Optional dental benefits paid at 80% co-pay.
- Optional prescription drug coverage, paid at 80 to 90% co-pay depending on plan. Coverage for existing medications is excluded.
- Coverage begins on the first of the month following your approval.
- Out of province travel coverage of up to 30 days depending on which plan you choose.
- Optional semi-private hospital accommodation upgrade.

1. United Health Associates (UHA) Group Insurance Plan offered in partnership with Medavie Blue Cross.

Guaranteed benefit plan for groups of 3 or more employees without a medical questionnaire.
Plan highlights:
Better benefits, lower premium
Compared to similar industry association health plans, the UHA group health insurance plan offers comprehensive benefits at a more competitive rate.
Guaranteed approval
If you or a family member has a condition, getting a health insurance plan can be a real challenge. Our plans guarantee approval for all health industry applicants and their staff/families.

2. Custom benefits proposal for groups larger than 10 employees

Optional/Standalone products :
- Long term disability insurance: no medical required for up to $500 per week and $50,000 lump sum payout, medical questionnaire required for amounts above.
- Life insurance: $25,000 or $50,000 without a medical questionnaire, medical questionnaire required for amounts above.
